Well this is odd. My dad got a job offer today to move to Hawaii. I work with him so where he goes I have to or I'm fired. Anyway, Seems fun I suppose though, it isn't written in stone yet...

Heroclix Tournament Report 1/24/08

Couple days late....

My team did better than expected actually.

Round 1 was against Zarin. He was using an X-Factor team. He has a couple multiple men, Strong Guy, and Archangel. He out actioned me but thanks to little need for support figures I managed to get more attacks in and pulled out for the win with no losses.

Next I fought Brad with is scary Meastro and Winter Soldier team. I was able to attack round after round consistantly but, only managed to land 1 attack the entire gam on Meastro and one on Winter Soldier. Needless to say I lost bad.

Lastly I played Riza. She had almost the same team as last time. I had bad rolls and lost archangel early. Gambit went next. Surprisingly Iceman took out all but one of her team single handedly then fell valiantly.

I placed around 5th...and got an Ahab for my effort.

Next Tourney is 400 unrestricted. I'm prolly gonna use Fantastic Four, stay tuned...

Well what a depressing note to be back on.





Heath Ledger, an actor known for his roles in Brokeback Mountain, 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knights Tale and the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight, Died today as a result of an overdose from sleeping pills inside his Manhattan apartment. It is still unclear as of this post if it was suicide or accidental. He was 28 years old.





Heath was one of my favorite actors, mainly because I loved 10 Things, and I know I'll miss seeing new work from this great star. So let's all have a moment of silence for this awesomely talented young man who's life was cut short.

Hiatus

2 week break for christmas...see you around new years...

Well, I'm a wiccan so technically it's Yule but, whatever.

Actually no, not whatever, I'm fed up with Christmas! Every year it gets less and less about family and more and more about gadgets and blinking lights. I swear to gods if I have to see another Holiday Shopping Guide, I'm just going to lose it. It seems the older I get the less I care about the gifts, and the more I realise Christmas just doesn't mean much anymore. It's sad.

Well this year is different, screw the presents, screw the lights. I just want to spend time with my family.

HC Tournament Report 12/13/07

Here we go, the weekly Heroclix tourney report. Nothing formal, just me talking about the goings on at my local HC tournaments that are held every thursday.

This week was a floor event,

I used a really fun and thematic team this week...

Hulkbuster -165

Well my first game was against Ike, he was playing Apocalypse with Fortitude and Repulser Shields. I was wary about it because Apoc is a beast.

We start off setting up positions, but I end up misjudging and fucking my first attack up. So it takes 3 turns to reposition. I end up hitting him a few times and every fig ended up in a big heap in the middle of the map. He takes down a guardsman but the others rally and smack him for four damage on a critical hit. Hulkbuster swoops in a finishes him off.

It would have been over for me on turn 5 if Apoc could have rolled higher than a 4, but he failed 5 times in a row. I got lucky, that's about it.

My second game was against James and his avengers + rampaging hulk, it wasn't theme of course. Bad rolls on my part ended it for me quickly, I don't wanna talk about it.

My last game was against Riza and her phalanx of randomness. Not very exciting, the game ended up going to time with me winning by 32 points.

It was a fun week, my prize was a zombie spidey from M+M. Next week is a 300 pt restricted...interesting...

I'm dying to use Silver Savage so he's prolly gonna be what I play w/ a warrior theme.
